UTILISING THE OUTDOORS

Maison & Object Exhibition, Paris

The Outdoor Chic team went to the Maison & Object Exhibition in Paris at the beginning of September to source some new products for our site and also meet with the MYYOUR, De Castelli and Roberti teams. Again, we received a warm welcome from everyone and of course a sip or two of Champagne and Prosecco!!

MYYOUR premiered their new range of planters, ‘Teo’ sensual organic shapes in a range of great colours that would grace any contemporary garden. They also showed ‘Mr Lem’ a range of futuristic, interlocking, stackable stools finished in leather or polypropylene in a variety of colours which looked sculptural and yet are completely practical.

De Castelli impressed us with a huge variety of brand new products, from amazing tables with inbuilt planting facilities to intricate laser cut screens and illuminated planters. All the items on show would look great both indoors and out. We are very excited to be introducing these innovative products to the UK.

We are in talks to offer a very exciting range of beautifully engineered parasols and sun shades in a variety of sizes shapes and colours to provide shade and shelter. We will also be introducing a beautifully simple eco friendly range of fabric planters. Also the most amazing large scale hot-tubs on the market, so watch this space!!

We noticed a theme developing at the show as well which was a number of companies producing outdoor kitchens, which cemented our beliefs that people really are ‘loving life outdoors’ and bringing more of their daily routines outside to enjoy the fresh air!!

At the beginning of September we sponsored the 'Three sisters Pro-am' water-ski event, this was the inaugural competition held at the private lake in Lancashire. The attendance was impressive with some of the best skiers from all over the world taking part, including the newly crowned world champion Will Asher. Check out the awesome footage on www.webcast-tv.com

The weather did its best to dampen the day, but the waterskiing community are a hardy bunch and everyone had a great time, ('they get wet in the lake anyway'). We had a fantastic display of our FATBOY range and as the day went on, the marquee became a chill-out zone for the competitors, who swapped tales of the pro tour from the warmth of the FATBOY beanbags and hammocks. On the pier we had a Dedon display including the Obelisk which drew much curious attention as always.

We would like to thank the guys and girls down at 'Three Sisters' for their kind hospitality and look forward to a sunny event next year.
